The Happy Robots was displayed for the first time at Kunstbygningen Filosoffen in Odense. Ugeavisen Odense stopped by for a quick chat about the story and inspiration behind the series of paintings

The story

The Happy Robots is a series of paintings inspired by a long distance relationship. The artwork is showing 2 robots in love, living on separate planets in the universe.

The 2 robots are mostly apart in the paintings. I tried to illustrate the feeling of being so far from a person you are in love with, which in real life may “only” be countries apart but it feels like you are planets apart.

Emphasis on the contrast between humans and robots. The story is inspired by real human feelings and it is represented in these robots who aren’t suppose to feel anything. The robots are illustrated with human characteristics, like human eyes and a heart.

The Happy Robots has been  displayed around Denmark. At Kunstbygningen Filosoffen and National Museum of Denmark – To see full list, go here Exhibitions
